Ryan Andoos

BEHIND THE BUSINESS

Ryan Andoos is the co-owner of Route 27 Hop Yard, a regenerative farm on Long Island that cultivates hemp and cannabis while focusing on sustainable agriculture and education.

With bachelor's and associate's degrees in horticulture from SUNY Cobleskill, Ryan built his expertise through hands-on experience working in Germany, France (including Claude Monet's gardens), Norway, and New Zealand before returning home to transform an abandoned 13-acre nursery into a thriving farm.

What began as a hop farm eventually evolved into hemp and cannabis production as regulations changed and new opportunities emerged.

Ryan is passionate about regenerative farming, living soil, and helping people better understand the differences between hemp and cannabis. He believes farming can be both environmentally responsible and economically successful through practices like crop rotation, cover cropping, composting, and soil restoration.

Beyond farming, he's been actively involved in advocating for New York's small family farms, working with industry organizations to shape fair cannabis and hemp regulations.

His mission is to educate consumers, challenge common misconceptions, and demonstrate that sustainable agriculture can benefit both people and the environment while building a successful local business.
